What is a School Based Traineeship?
A school based traineeship allows senior secondary students to start a traineeship while also completing the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). Under these arrangements the student is both a full-time student and a part-time employee with the same employment and training responsibilities as other trainees - For further information on School Based Traineeships click here.
School Based Apprenticeships
Schools Based Apprenticeships allow students to start an apprenticeship while still at school. This is on a part-time basis while at school and continues full or part-time after the student leaves school.
Students are an employee so are paid for the time they are in the workplace. Every week students are usually 3 days at school, one day in the workplace and one day at training.
