VET Teaching & Learning PD

Programs and Development

Who we are and what we do?

The VET Programs and Development Branch is part of the VET Teaching and Learning Directorate of the Western Australian Department of Training and Workforce Development.

The principal goal of the VET Programs and Development Branch is to enhance the quality of vocational education and training (VET) delivery and assessment practices.

The Branch seeks to
• Provide direction through a development of a professional development framework for the Western Australian VET sector;
• Undertake the systematic review and evaluation of professional development needs and programs in the VET sector;
• Support change through the implementation of sector-wide change management strategies;
• Strengthen relationships and build alliances within VET, the secondary education and higher education sectors;
• Develop and implement client focussed strategies to increase access to and achievement in VET for all people.
Professional development programs are supported by the establishment of networks and committees representing VET organisations, industries and education sectors.
